I know there has been chatter about this but there ISNT any native support what you need to do in order for this to work is have a PC or Intel Compute Stick or a NUC in anycase it needs have the following specs:
• Microsoft Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7, Windows Vista.
• Windows Internet Explorer 9 at a minimum. Latest version of Internet Explorer available for your OS is desired
• 512 MB RAM (1 GB recommended)
• connection to a network
Using Playon you can stream these following channels to your OSMC installation
A&E ABC ABC Family Adult Swim Amazon Instant Video AMC American Heros Animal Planet BET Bravo Cartoon Network CBS CBS News CNBC CNN Crackle CW Seed Destination America Discovery Channel Discovery Life Disney DIY Network Encore Play ESPN ESPN 3 Estrella FilmOn Food Network Fox Fox Business FXNow FYI Great American Country Hallmark HBO Go HBO Go Latino HBO Now HGTV History Hulu Hulu Latino Investigation Discovery Lifetime Live News Logo TV Movieplex Play MTV MTV2 National Geographic NBA NBC NBC Classics NBC Sports Live Extra Netflix NFL Game Rewind NHL Nick Oprah Winfrey Network Oxygen Pandora Pluto.tv Qello Redbull TV Science Showtime Spike TV Univision USA Network Velocity Vevo VH1 Vimeo Vudu WWE YouTube
So install the software on your computer and enter the credentials to the accounts you have in the software once its downloaded.
you will also have to have Streaming|Casting Channels: enabled on your account this might cost a couple of bucks but it can be useful since you can stream to your Android, Apple or a whole bunch of other devices, so back to the topic next up is getting all this to work with Kodi
Either we go with upnp and add Playon as a Source or we use a Kodi addon
with upnp make sure that upnp is enabled under settings > network > upnp/dlna
enable look for remote upnp players
then add the source
Video > Files > Add Videos > Browse > UPnP Devices
And under that you will find PlayOn:
just add that it will show all the channels even those unconfigured but your ready to go at this point
another method is using Playon Browser Repository and install it from zip then go to install from repository select Lunatixz Repo and got o Video Addons and install Playon Browser then configure it under the addon settings so that the ip is pointed at your computer that has the server.
The downside is you will have to have your computer on at when you wanna watch you want to watch netflix or other services but thats what we get when they neglect the Linux platform and Kodi.
Hope this helps out in some way // Toast
PS. Merry Christmas
pps. this works for any kodi distro.
